Along with in the air training, students have to complete ground school. Freedom Air offers in person ground school located at our hangar (see photo gallery for classroom photo) or self-paced online ground school.
Your dedication and availability to fly is imperative to timely completion of the course. Two or more bookings per week, and working on ground school, can be most effective for training progress. For a breakdown on cost of this program, please view the Cost and Rate Sheet. Please note that this breakdown is just the minimum required. Every student is different and costs may vary.

Why the Edmonton Area?

Just 25 minutes northeast of Edmonton is located the city of Fort Saskatchewan. This city is only located 10 minutes away from the Freedom Air Hangar. Fort Saskatchewan offers many of the same amenities as Edmonton with its Performing Arts Theatre, historical North West Mounted Police Fort and state of the art recreation facility. Fort Saskatchewan is also located on the North Saskatchewan River and offers 80 km of walking trails through lush forests. Fort Saskatchewan offers the same wide range of services as a bigger city and retains the sense of community and charm.
