Night Rating
The Night Rating is an additional rating that can be added to a Private Pilot License that permits the pilot to fly at night.

Experience

Minimum of 20 hours of flight training time including a minimum of:

10 hours dual instrument time

10 hours of night flight time including a minimum of:

5 hours dual, including 2 hours of cross-country flight time

5 hours of supervised solo flight time including 10 takeoffs, circuits and landings.

VFR Over The Top
The VFR Over the Top Rating is an additional rating that can be added to a Private Pilot License that permits the pilot to on top of cloud layers in accordance with CARS Section 602.116.

Knowledge

An applicant for a VFR OTT rating shall acquire a standard of knowledge in accordance with the Flight Instructor Standard - VFR OTT.

Experience

Minimum of 15 hours of dual instrument training time.

An applicant for a VFR OTT rating shall have reached the level of skill specified in the Flight Instructor Standard - VFR OTT.
